Effective 11 May 2026. How we use cookies and how you can control them.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and measure how the site is used.

2. Cookies we use

galileosearch.com.au uses three categories of cookies:

Essential

Required for the website to function. These include session cookies for form submissions and basic security tokens. Essential cookies cannot be disabled.

Analytics (conditional)

Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics. These tags only load when our team has enabled them via the deployment configuration. When active, they help us understand which pages visitors find most useful so we can improve the site. No analytics cookies are set before a tag is enabled.

Advertising measurement (conditional)

Google Ads and the LinkedIn Insight Tag. When we run advertising, these tags record that a visit came from one of our ads and whether that visit led to an enquiry, so we can tell which ads work. They do not receive the content of any form you submit. If you arrive from one of our ads, the ad click reference is kept in your browser for up to 90 days and included with any enquiry you choose to send, so we can tell which ads lead to real conversations. Neither the Google Ads tag nor the click reference is used if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

3. Third-party cookies

If analytics or advertising tags are enabled, third-party cookies may be set by Google or LinkedIn under their own privacy policies: policies.google.com/privacy and linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.

When you click links to external services from our site (for example, our salary benchmarking tool at salary.galileosearch.com.au, or our LinkedIn page), those services may set their own cookies under their respective policies.

4. How to control cookies

You can manage cookies through:

  • Your browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Refer to your browser's help documentation.
  • Google Analytics opt-out: install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data from your visits.
  • Do Not Track: we respect Do Not Track browser signals where it is technically feasible to detect them.

Blocking essential cookies may affect the functionality of the website (for example, contact form submissions).
