AI Solutions Engineer, HR & Recruitment Automation

$180k to $230k + super
Salary
Sydney, NSW
Location

Work type

Picture an internal talent team drowning in CVs for one role, screening by hand, with no record of why anyone was rejected. You build the system that fixes it. You go onsite to an Australian enterprise, take the requirements, map how their recruiters actually screen, and build an AI-led screening system that reads a whole candidate pool, ranks against the job spec, and surfaces the decision for a human to make.

The screening engine is Claude-based and ours. Your job is to make it work inside the client's Microsoft and Azure environment and their HRIS, with hiring policy coded in and a governance trail behind every decision. It is one part senior GenAI engineering, one part business analysis, and it is all client-facing delivery.

What you will do

  • Sit with hiring managers and recruiters, capture requirements, and map the screening process step by step
  • Build the screening pipeline: bulk CV ingestion, structured parsing, and ranking against the spec
  • Code the hiring policy in: salary bands, mandatory qualifications, right-to-work and internal-mobility rules
  • Hold context across many CVs so the system reasons over the whole pool, not one resume at a time
  • Build the governance layer: human sign-off before any rejection, plus an audit trail of every decision and override
  • Integrate the engine into the client's Azure OpenAI, Copilot and Power Platform stack and their HRIS

What you bring

  • Senior GenAI engineering depth: strong Python and/or TypeScript, hands-on with LLM APIs, RAG, vector stores and agents
  • A business analyst streak: you turn fuzzy requirements into a process map and then a working build
  • An understanding of recruitment and HR as a process, including why hiring policy must be built in when AI leads
  • Fluency in the Microsoft AI stack: Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, Power Platform and Microsoft Graph
  • Exposure to at least one major HRIS such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors or Oracle Taleo
  • Comfort onsite and client-facing, not just heads-down
