A market-leading Australian business is appointing its first Head of AI to own enterprise AI strategy end to end. You will set the AI roadmap, build the operating model, and turn AI from scattered pilots into measurable P&L impact across the organisation.
This business is past the experimentation phase. The executive team wants a leader who can connect AI investment to revenue and cost outcomes, stand the function up properly, and bring the rest of the organisation with them. You will hold the strategy and the number behind it, with the sponsorship to act on both.
What you will do
- Own the enterprise AI strategy and the build-versus-buy decisions behind it
- Stand up the AI operating model: governance, prioritisation, delivery and adoption
- Partner with the executive team to tie AI investment to revenue and cost outcomes
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary AI function across engineering, product and governance
- Set the responsible AI bar and keep the business ahead of regulation
What you bring
- A track record leading AI or data transformation at scale in a complex Australian business
- Fluency across the full stack: strategy, delivery, commercial and risk
- Proven influence with boards and executives, and a habit of turning AI ambition into shipped outcomes
- Comfort owning a number, not just a roadmap
Why this role
First-mover mandate, executive sponsorship, and a clean slate to build the function your way. Very few Australian businesses are hiring this role at this level of authority, and fewer still are giving the appointee the operating model as well as the strategy.
